Meet Miss Tenaya

Creator and Director of TLT Dance Academy

My name is Tenaya Berrebi and I am the director and founder of T.L.T Dance Academy. I have always had a passion for dance, however my true passion and love lies in teaching this art. I receive such immense fulfilment from watching a student learn a new skill, or teaching the babies how to skip; influencing their lives and growth through dance.

I believe that each child is special, important and unique, and that they all deserve the right to a loving, enjoyable and brilliant childhood. This is what I seek to achieve with every class taught at my school, and aim to promote love, confidence, positive self esteem, and healthy body image throughout.

Being a mother myself, I know how important a child's happiness and self image is, and therefore my goal is to ensure that every child leaves class brimming with confidence and positivity about themselves and the world around them. Whilst making lifelong friendships and strong teacher relationships, getting fit and active, and most importantly, having fun, TLT classes teach correct and safe dance practice and ability.

My dance academy is a family, a place where students can feel welcome and loved, and a place where everyone is equal. I hope to have the opportunity to influence upon your child's life, and help to make their world as special and unique as they are.

Miss Tia

Intermediates and Seniors

I started dance classes at the age of three, but my mum said I have been moving & grooving since I was a baby! Dance has been the biggest and most important thing in my life for as long as I can remember.

During the past 15 years I have trained in various styles of dance, competed in solo and group competitions, completed many dance exams in tap, ballet and jazz, participated in intensives and workshops, worked in the performance entertainment industry through talent agencies and performed in company productions.

For the past three years I have furthered my training by studying dance full time, which I will continue during 2023. I hold a Certificate IV and Diploma in Dance Teaching Management, which has helped me develop my knowledge of dance and grown my love for teaching. During the past three years I have taught children from 3 years of age, right through to adults. I hope to inspire the next generation of dancers here at TLT Academy and foster their love and passion for dance, while developing their skills in a fun and positive environment.

Miss Xana

Primary & Juniors

My grandma enrolled me in dance lessons at the age of six after noticing I simply couldn’t sit still, and I’ve been in love with movement ever since. I trained throughout my school years, performing and choreographing in high school productions and senior troupes, soaking up every chance I had to be on stage. I later completed three years of full-time training at LAUNCH Performing Arts Centre, graduating with a Certificate IV in Dance.

I hold ATOD Jazz and Tap qualifications, RAD Ballet Foundations, and have completed Trinity College London Speech & Drama exams. I’ve had the chance to perform at corporate events, gala evenings, and major Gold Coast venues, as well as appear on screen in Elvis. I also hold a current Blue Card and am certified in CPR and First Aid.

As a teacher, I love creating a fun, supportive space where students feel confident, encouraged, and excited to move. My goal is to help each dancer build strong technique while developing a genuine love for performing.

Miss Abbey

Tiny Tots & Primary Teacher

I started dancing at the age of three when my mum enrolled me, in the hopes to fix my coordination. I danced for 14 years 3 of which were at TLT which I absolutely loved.

I’ve completed many tap and ballet exams over the years, competed in performance teams and choreographed dances for school assessments.

I love teaching and inspiring the younger students. I always hope I can bring them a class full of joy and learning. Watching them thrive and hearing the giggles is honestly the best part.

Miss Evie

Assistant Teacher

When I was three my mum enrolled me in Miss Tenaya's dance academy and I immediately loved it. Over my years as a dancer I went to other dance classes yet I always remembered the feeling of coming in to friendly and smiling people. In later years once I discovered Miss Tenaya's academy I jumped back at the opportunity to be in the nurturing loving environment I remembered.

I love connecting with the little kids while meeting new faces and guiding them through their dance journey. Creating bonds and sharing memories with kids is something I look forward to every Saturday.
